Jeffrey Schick is a juried and audience award-winning writer-director whose screenplays have earned Finalist recognition at the Austin Film Festival and CineStory, with additional recognition from PAGE and Final Draft. He writes across comedy, dramedy, and drama — for both film and television.

Recognized for his ability to draw from the tragic, taboo, and absurd corners of life — sometimes including his own — Schick mines these experiences for the humor in what shouldn't be funny.

Before screenwriting, Schick worked in advertising, learning to distill an emotion into ten words or less — a discipline that still shapes his craft. He studied screenwriting at UCLA and is currently a faculty member at Cornish College of the Arts, where he teaches screendance, a practice merging cinematography with choreography.

Schick draws on his background in movement and a mild case of synesthesia —where he experiences sound visually — as additional tools in shaping story and directing bodies in motion. Together, they help him form resonance between character, story, and screen as kinetic energy audiences embody.
